Are you using Twitter? It is not a passing fad! There are millions of people opening accounts every month. Twitter can be a valuable tool for your home business. There are a few things to do in the beginning to look like someone others will want to follow.

First, open an account using your real name. This is a social site and it is for social purposes so if you want to attract followers you need to show you are a real person. Who wants to be a follower of a made up name?

A lot of people think they need to see proof something will work before they will even consider trying it for themselves. They say, “I’ll believe this works once I see it working.”

This makes no sense whatsoever when you think about it. If you don’t believe something will work before you even try it, you’ll never get it to work. That is the solution right there. The biggest problem most people have is self doubt and the solution for it is the opposite: belief. Everyone knows this is true. It has been proven time and time again throughout history. Do you think the first man who sailed around the world believed it was possible? Did Thomas Edison believe he could invent the light bulb, telegraph, telephone, or any of the other hundred or so inventions he is credited for or did he wait for proof it could be done? Who proved to the Wright brothers it was possible to fly?

All those people and millions of others have done wild and fantastic things and experienced amazing successes only because they believed they could before they even tried. They were not afraid to fail and had no self doubt that they would succeed. Every one of them had failures before they succeeded too. Thomas Edison failed a hundred times before he got the light bulb right but he always believed and that is why we now have electric lights.

The only way you will ever build a successful home business is if you believe you can do it. You have to become an entrepreneur like Edison, Franklin, the Wright brothers, Ford, and millions of others who believed they could do something and then took action and never gave up. You have to get rid of self doubt and believe you are not only worthy of success but you deserve it and you are going to achieve that freedom.

Many people have gone before you and that is a good thing for you because you can learn from them and get there quicker since you don’t have to make the same mistakes. But the only way it will ever happen is if you believe you can do it and you take massive action and look at any failure as a learning experience that is needed in order to get where you want to be.

Many people think they know what network marketing is but actually have no clue about how it works or the true potential. It is a business model that is similar to franchising. In franchising you pay a fee which is usually tens of thousands of dollars for the rights to own a business using the company’s name, products, and services. The company provides you with advertising, training, market support, and development.

Although there are similarities, there are major differences between franchising and network marketing. In network marketing a person pays a nominal or no fee to join and uses the company’s training, products, and services. All the products are distributed through independent business owners who do all the marketing of the products and services. But one major difference and the key feature for network marketing is each business owner can expand their business by recruiting and setting up other people in businesses of their own.

There is an abundantly higher potential for income involved in recruiting or sponsoring others into the business than there is in trying to retail products or services. Although most companies promote the “old school” methods of sponsoring which involve utilizing your “warm list” or personal contact list, many people are attempting to meet people and recruit distributors on the Internet. The main reason for that is nobody knows enough people to get the number of distributors recruited that is required to build up a paycheck substantial enough to quit their traditional job.

Actually most people DO know enough people to build up a pretty nice paycheck if they could recruit a high percentage of them but many people are resistant to joining a network marketing business or starting their own home business for many different reasons. One of the main reasons people fail is because the methods they are taught are second rate, interruption based methods that are ineffective in today’s market.

Kit also has many links for resources and more information in her great article about this new but not surprising development. The only reason I say not surprising is because anytime a site gets the explosion that Twitter has enjoyed it is a matter of time before someone figures out that a lot of money in advertising is on the table and ripe for the picking.
